Common Name: Cubaris White Shark

Scientific Name: Cubaris sp White Shark

Cubaris sp. “White Shark” is a stunning dwarf isopod prized for its unique combination of bright white, deep black and warm orange colouring. Their distinctive banded pattern gives them a striking appearance and makes them a fantastic addition to a specialist isopod collection or naturalistic bioactive enclosure.

These small terrestrial isopods are active decomposers, helping to break down decaying organic matter and recycle nutrients within a bioactive setup. They particularly enjoy leaf litter, decaying hardwood and well-established substrate, while also benefiting from a reliable calcium source for healthy growth and moulting.

White Sharks are a tropical Cubaris and prefer warm, humid conditions with good ventilation. They tend to spend much of their time beneath bark, leaf litter and within the substrate, making them especially rewarding for keepers who enjoy observing naturalistic microfauna colonies. Once established in suitable conditions, they can reproduce well and develop into a thriving colony.

Care Requirements:
• Temperature: 24–28°C
• Humidity: Approximately 60–80%, with a moisture gradient
• Substrate: Deep, organic, moisture-retentive substrate
• Diet: Leaf litter, decaying hardwood, vegetables and supplementary isopod/protein foods
• Calcium: Provide a constant calcium source such as limestone or cuttlebone
• Behaviour: Peaceful, secretive and primarily active around sheltered areas

Cubaris White Shark isopods are an excellent choice for collectors looking for a small, highly attractive and unusual tropical isopod with exceptional patterning.
